Android Lollipop.....The new generation Android

So finally Google unveiled the Android Lollipop [5.0] earlier known as Android L. And it is definitely something to look forward to. A lot of exciting improvements to the KitKat have been made and is a step forward to making the smartphone experience even better. So are you curious about what's in store for you in the new OS? Let's find out.

1) Material Design: The design is meant to look both flat and 3D, as if you're looking at paper that exists on a z-axis as well as the x and y which is a completely different experience when compared to the standard Android design we are accustomed to.

Material Design reflects this with clean, bold lines and colors that transform and alter with fun animations. At its best it lets you sense the depth behind the interface, even when it's at rest and appears flat.

These changes cover everything from app icons, fonts and interfaces to simple elements like the new navigation buttons and notification bar icons, and once you get past the changes you'll likely agree that most things look better and exciting now.

2) Notification: The one major update/change that makes it the best from the lot is the way it shows notifications to the users.The OS's lockscreen is no longer a static barrier you have to get through before you can get to the notifications, but instead in Lollipop you can see what notifications you've received and what's going on with your apps and contacts as soon as you pick it up, before you even unlock your device - and you can even respond to messages from the lockscreen. Now that's superb :)

Lollipop's quick settings bar also has new options that KitKat desperately needed, like easy buttons for flashlight, hotspots, and screen casting. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and location options have been expanded here as well.

3) Connectivity: As per Google, Lollipop is better in communicating with the apps as well as in terms of connectivity through bluetooth and Wi-Fi specifically when it comes to devices like android wear smartwatches and tablets.

4) Performance: Google says Android 5.0 is way more power-efficient over its predecessors, with the same phones getting significantly more battery juice out of Lollipop than they did with KitKat. Well I hope it does, don't you?

Multitasking has also been updated with the ability to have multiple cards for the same apps open at a time, letting you have more than one document or website next to one another, for example. It's also easier to switch keyboards now too, and Android Lollipop even supports RAW images. What more do we need?

Well this is just the beginning, there is a lot more when it comes to user experience and you will be able to feel the difference when you start using it. Most of the new smartphones will get the update soon, for the rest only time will tell.

LG G3: Catch The First Look!

The LG G3, one of the most anticipated Smartphone of the year 2014 is out in the market now.  It is a perfect alternate to the biggest phones of the year like Samsung Galaxy S5 and Sony Xperia Z2.

Bitcoin: Is it the Currency of Future???

Bitcoin, a new digital currency created in 2009 by an unknown person is an electronic currency also known as ‘crypto currency’. The transactions made with no middle men, i.e. no banks, make it distinctive. As there are no transaction fees or any other such formalities, it has gained huge popularity across the globe. Nowadays, more and more merchants have started accepting them. It symbolizes the beginning of era of cashless transactions and point toward a future where currencies may take digital form some day or the other. 

Bitcoins are a form of digital public money, whose value is derived from the computational solution of cryptographic problems. The transactions are recorded and secured as a public-private key cryptography on a decentralized peer to peer client network by millions of computer users called 'miners'. Nowadays, one bitcoin is currently worth 600 US dollars (approx.). Also, the world has bitcoins worth 1.9 billion USD at present and approximately 2 billion USD more have to be created in the future. The LG G2 is the first Smartphone handset to come without side buttons, with a control pad on the back of the handset. It sounds like an interesting innovation - but will it work?
T3 say the new design isn't quite perfect yet but were impressed by many of the features on the device, which LG hope will reverse its fortunes in the Smartphone marketplace.

The concept of putting buttons on the back came from research which revealed that the larger Smartphone’s became, the harder it was for users to access side keys, LG said.

“Moving the main buttons to the back of the phone gave users more control since this place was where individuals’ index fingers are naturally located,” LG said in a statement.
“Researchers found that moving the buttons also resulted in fewer dropped phones when adjusting the volume while talking.”

The buttons on the back allow users to launch the camera and a note-taking application. The power button is also located on the back of the device, but if the phone is lying on a table users can switch it on by tapping on the screen twice.
The LG G2 will sport a 5.2-inch phablet-sized screen, along with a speedy quad-core processor and uniquely positioned rear buttons. Verizon Wireless has announced it will not only carry the LG G2, but its variant will have a unique exclusive -- built-in wireless charging.
The Verizon LG G2 will officially feature wireless-charging, but LG and Verizon did not comment on how the wireless charging would work -- on whether it would be a Qi-compatible device or utilize a specific accessory from LG.
Built-in wireless charging was also featured in the Nexus 4, the Smartphone running a stock version of the Android OS manufactured by LG for Google. The LG G2 pictured on the Verizon Wireless website also features a metallic-looking Rear Key. The LG G2’s Rear Key is a uniquely positioned power button that emits a white LED glow when pressed, sandwiched between two volume keys.

"Jolla" Smartphone.....Sailfish OS

A group of ex-Nokia employees who quit over the company's decision to abandon the planned MeeGo operating system in favour of Windows launched their own smartphone on Monday, hoping it will be a strong rival for other big names in the market.

Well, named The Jolla, it is a smartphone which is entirely intuitive and has no buttons. The model has a 4.5-inch touch screen and features two different-coloured halves that together make up the phone. It runs its own operating system called Sailfish OS, a successor to MeeGo and which is compatible with some Android applications. 

The company is offering Sailfish products to retailer and operator partners for the medium-price range. 

According to Marc Dillon, head of Sailfish development, existing operating systems "do not really support a great deal of flexibility. One (iOS) is completely closed and one (Android) pushes its own services pretty heavily." "I see that Sailfish will be used on lots of different devices from other manufacturers as well. We have a constant stream of interest," he told AFP. 

Dillon said he would be "very happy with one million sold devices in one year." 

Jolla hopes to take on markets in China, Europe and North Africa, but not the United States. 

Smartphone operating systems are dominated by Google's Android and Apple's iOS. Jolla's Sailfish, like Microsoft's Windows and Mozilla's Firefox, are trying to break their dominance on the market. 

Jolla has already signed two distribution deals, with the largest smartphone retailer in China, D Phone, and the Finnish operator DNA. The Sailfish OS will also run on tablets. 

Jolla, which counts four former Nokia engineers and directors among its five founders, was started in 2011 and now has some 70 employees. Let's see if this can pose a threat to the major names in the smartphones market.

Samsung as shaken up the whole Mobile Phone market with the launch of the Amazing Galaxy Mega 6.3 and Galaxy Mega 5.8. Both running on Android 4.2 [Jelly Bean].

Galaxy Mega 6.3, ofcourse features a 6.3-inch TFT HD display and is powered by a 1.7 GHz dual-core processor. This device has 1.5GB RAM and comes in 8 and 16GB memory options, with microSD card support up to 64GB. This phone can connect to the internet over 2G, 3G, 4G and Wi-Fi networks and transfer data via Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB 2.0 and NFC. The manufacturer has strapped an 8MP camera with LED flash on the back of the device, whereas a 1.9MP shooter on the front.

The smaller device in the line-up, Galaxy Mega 5.8, features a 5.8-inch TFT touchscreen and runs on a 1.4GHz dual-core CPU, coupled with 1.5GB RAM. This phone is available with only 8GB internal storage and supports microSD cards with capacities up to 64GB. Connectivity features in the device include 2G, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and microUSB 2.0. On the back of this smartphone is an 8MP shooter with LED flash, while a 1.9MP unit is used on the front panel.

Samsung hasn't revealed the pricing yet but they'll be out soon.............

BlackBerry Z10 in India...

 
BlackBerry has finally formally introduced the new BlackBerry Z10 smartphone stacked with BlackBerry 10 operating system in India today. The Z10 was launched with pomp and show and an amazing demonstration of the new BlackBerry Z10 mobile operating system shown on the stage in Mumbai, India. The price set for the BlackBerry Z10 is Rs 43,490 in India and the BlackBerry Q10 is also expected to be available in April this year.

As per BlackBerry the new BlackBerry 10 mobile operating system has been developed from scratch using the super elements of the BlackBerry OS and real-time Linux kernel based QNX operating system. The new user interface focuses quite heavily on gestures and on making the best of the available resources to make it an amazing user experience. So basically, BlackBerry has included each and everything required to make this phone a really really smart phone.........Hopefully this would be a stiff competition for Samsung and probably Apple as well.

The Bionic man....

The magnificent BlackBerry Z10 out on January 30th

The new year has come with lot of amazing things in terms of technology and this time its the Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion [RIM] which just threw out information of the release of a new software update for its BlackBerry Dev Alpha devices, and should make it available for download starting with January 30. 

According to a recent info from bbin.in, the new software update will arrive on devices with BlackBerry Hub, Phone and BlackBerry Maps. And not just that, the long rumored BlackBerry Z10 smartphone would be hitting the shelves at TELUS and Bell on the same day, that is January 30th. It will be available in both Black and White coats. That's just awesome, isn't it.

Well, there is not much information of what features and hardware the smart phones packs but the details should be pretty much out in another day or two. But it seems like it would be hotter than the competitor Apple's iPhone. There are quite a lot of hints of that with the way BlackBerry is looking forward to the release. Gorilla Glass 3 - toughness test...........

For all those who thought Gorilla Glass 2 was the toughest one in the market, well Corning just proved all of them wrong. It came out with its Gorilla Glass 3 last week which surpasses the 2nd version of it in all the tests by a good number of points. That's right, the smart phones are just going to be a lot more stronger in the near future. 

That means you can handle your costly and precious phones just about as roughly as you handle your pen or any other thing as it is not going to have any effect on it if it has one of these on it. I'm sure you all are looking forward to get my hands on it and feel the power of Gorilla.
